Message are lower for a bigger rotor due to mass, but that was using ST's aero rotors vs standard Brembo's. For bling, go big Akenono, for reducing unsprung weight, Brembo.

When I was debating the same thing, I was originally going to go with the SRT8 Brembo calipers and 370Z rotors, but when I received the calipers they were waaaaayyyy too heavy for track use...combined with the very heavy 14" rotors, it was too much weight. For me the 350Z Brembo's are lighter than my stock Z32 iron calipers with better performance and after researching and reading the testing by Zeckhausen, I realized actual stopping distance was limited to the ability of the tires to stick. All of this is theoretical on my part, but I have yet to see anyone repeat the testing in the way Zeckhausen did with ST when adding the different BBK's for a Z32. I assume most people "feel" like it brakes better with bigger rotors due to the increase leverage and less pedal force required. My basic physics tells me that if the stock setup can activate the ABS, the max stopping capacity of the tires has been reached. This is what was shown in the ST test. Even the big 355mm rotor setup only stopped 7 feet shorter from 100mph than a base 350Z and only 2Ft shorter for the Track Brembo's.

On the other hand, the stock setup is know to not be able to handle repeated track braking situations due to heat so from there I think it's hard to say which (Brembo or Akebono) would be better for track use when comparing unsprung weight vs heat capacity.
